WELCOME TO THE LIMES MEDICAL CENTRE
The Limes Medical Centre is a five partner teaching/training practice with a list size of approximately 20,000 patients. We offer GP services across four locations Epping, Waltham Abbey, Theydon Bois and North Weald.
Our doctors, nurses and all our staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and this website will help us to keep all our patients up to date with news and information about our practice.
As the COVID-19 delay phase continues, we are taking steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all patients and staff at the practice.
We ask that if you have symptoms of a high temperature or a new, continuous cough, or you live with someone that is experiencing any of these symptoms that you self-isolate as per NHS Guidance (see below for the latest COVID-19 advice).
We will now be operating by telephone triage.
If you require medical assistance please call 01992 573838 (Epping, North Weald and Theydon Bois), 01992 714088 (Waltham Abbey).
A clinician will assess your case over the telephone and advice will be given. You may also be offered a video consultation. You will only be asked to attend the practice for a face to face assessment by the clinician if this is necessary.
Please DO NOT attend the surgery unless advised to do so by a clinician.
Immunisation for children during COVID-19:
Routine childhood vaccinations are a simple, safe and effective way of protecting children against harmful childhood diseases. Providing the child and parents are well and not displaying symptoms of Coronavirus or other infections, children should have routine childhood immunisations as normal. The practice are taking the appropriate measures to minimise the risks by reducing people coming into the surgery. Please book an appointment if notified. It is important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection, but if you or your child miss a vaccine, contact your GP to catch up.
Repeat prescriptions can be requested online or posted through the letterbox at Epping, Theydon Bois and Waltham Abbey.
If you have a nominated pharmacy, your prescription will automatically be sent there.
If you do not have a nominated pharmacy, script tokens can now be collected from Epping Wells or a Waltham Abbey Pharmacy of your choice (please speak to the prescription clerk in regards to this).
Notice for Asthma Patients - Due to the risk of national supply issues please ONLY request inhalers if absolutely necessary.
The surgery will be closed to patients and occupied by our administrative team until further notice.
If you have an existing appointment you will be contacted by telephone.

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) - LATEST ADVICE
COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus.
Stay at home to stop coronavirus spreading
Everyone must stay at home to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
This includes people of all ages – even if you do not have any symptoms or other health conditions.
You can only leave your home:
- to shop for basic essentials – only when you really need to
- to do one form of exercise a day – such as a run, walk or cycle, alone or with other people you live with
- for any medical need – for example, to visit a pharmacy or deliver essential supplies to a vulnerable person
- to travel to and from work – but only where this is absolutely necessary
What to do if you have coronavirus symptoms
Continue to stay at home if you have either:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay at home.
Use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do.
