WELCOME TO THE LIMES MEDICAL CENTRE
The Limes Medical Centre is a five partner teaching/training practice with a list size of approximately 20,000 patients. We offer GP services across four locations Epping, Waltham Abbey, Theydon Bois and North Weald.
Our doctors, nurses and all our staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and this website will help us to keep all our patients up to date with news and information about our practice.
As the NHS is now operating in phase two of the COVID-19 response, we are taking new steps to ensure and maintain the safety and well-being of all patients and staff at the practice.
We ask that if you have symptoms of a high temperature, a new and continuous cough, loss or change to your sense of smell and taste or you live with someone that is experiencing any of these symptoms that you self-isolate and request a coronavirus test as per NHS Guidance.

Our Front of House team will ask you to provide a brief description of the issue. This information is essential to help the clinical team triage your needs, signpost you to the correct place of care or make an appropriate booking. All staff members are bound by strict rules of confidentiality and giving as much information as possible allows your request to be dealt with efficiently and successfully.
You will be asked to confirm whether your registered contact telephone numbers are still active so your record can be updated. You may also be asked if you have a phone that can be potentially used for video calling.
At this point you will be booked into a telephone appointment slot or advised that you will receive a telephone call from a clinician – approximate times may be given but may vary.
Telephone / Video Consultation:
Initial contact by the clinician will be made by telephone. At this point, your consultation will take place. You may be asked if you have access to video calling and a secure video consultation link will be sent to you via text message to carry out the rest of the consultation.
Attending the practice:
In some cases, the clinician may ask that you attend the surgery and will give you instructions on where to attend and what to do. The clinical team will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and YOU MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING.

Please DO NOT attend the surgery unless advised to do so by a member of staff.
Please note that telephone appointments for the Dietician, First Contact Practitioner and our Social Prescriber are available.
Following guidance from the East of England Public Health Team, we are now restarting routine screening at the practice. If you have received a letter regarding screening please make contact with the practice. The Nursing team will also be working towards contacting patients whose screening was delayed due to COVID-19.
It is important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection. Providing that you and your child are well and not displaying symptoms of Coronavirus or other infections, children should have routine childhood immunisations as normal. Please contact the practice by telephone to make an appointment.
Collection of paperwork / dropping off samples:
If you are asked to attend the surgery by a member of staff to collect a blood test form or drop off a sample, please follow any directions or instructions given by the Front of House staff. You must observe the 2 metre rule at all times. There will be designated boxes to drop off and collect your items.
Please do not leave samples after 6pm.
Please note at Epping, patients must use the buzzer system to speak to a member of the Front of House team.
Extended Hours / Extended Access:
The Extended Hours and Extended Access Service are offering telephone/video consultations during weekday evenings and at weekends, please contact the Front of House team for availability.
Repeat prescriptions can be requested online or posted through the letterbox at Epping, Theydon Bois and Waltham Abbey.
If you have a nominated pharmacy (EPS), your prescription will automatically be sent there.
If you do not have a nominated pharmacy, script tokens can now be collected from Epping Wells or a Waltham Abbey Pharmacy of your choice (please speak to the prescription clerk in regards to this).

If you are attending the surgery to post your prescription request, we ask that you be mindful of other patients around you who may also be dropping off their prescription requests and observe the 2 metre rule.
Notice for Asthma Patients - Due to the risk of national supply issues please ONLY request inhalers if absolutely necessary.
If you need to self-isolate you can get an isolation note to give to your employer as proof you need to be off work. You do not need to get a note from the GP - you can access the self-isolation note guidance here
The surgery remains closed to patients and occupied by our administrative team until further notice.
